The Story Girl
About the Book

First published in 1911 by McClelland and Stewart
The Story Girl depicts a group of young cousins on the King family farm. Told in retrospect by the boy Beverley King, an idyllic summer unfolds as four boys and four girls in their pre-teens and early teens amuse themselves through their chores, games, exciting ideas, and stories of family history. Bev, Felix, Dan, Felicity, Cecily, the Story Girl, Peter and Sara Ray all have a distinct personality, so their interactions bring drama and humour to the group.
The Story Girl and The Golden Road were adapted by Kevin Sullivan for the popular 1990s television series, Road to Avonlea.
The Story Girl is followed by its sequel The Golden Road.
