Anne of the Island
About the Book
First published in 1915 by L.C. Page Co.
..She forgot lovelorn youths, and the cayenne speeches of malicious neighbors, and all the problems of her girlish existence. In imagination she sailed over storied seas that wash the distant shining shores of “faery lands forlorn,”… she was richer in those dreams than in realities; for things seen pass away, but the things that are unseen are eternal. - Anne of the Island, ch.i.
Anne of the Island recounts Anne’s four years as a student at Redmond College in Kingsport, Halifax. She makes new friends, experiences sorrow and disillusion, and learns about love.
